Guess Who Started Solids?

Big news, big news we've turned a corner towards the next big stage. Amani's eating solids!

I know it's a bit early because he's not quite 6 months (turns 6 months on the 29th) but Amani was showing all the signs of being ready for food. Watching us while we ate and dranks, drooling when he saw food, reaching for food, and chomping his gums and chewing. If that wasn't enough incentive for me to start him there was also the added pressure from people here since they normally give babies some solids around 2 months. Although I know there are some people in America that do that too! So I felt good that I had been able to wait as long as I did before starting foods.

So on Tuesday night, much to the great delight of his siblings, Amani got his first taste of big boy food. He got banana's for the first food - just like his big brother and sisters and LOVED them! He did GREAT eating off a spoon. In fact by the second feeding he was acting like he'd been eating solids for 2 months! I guess he's just advanced! :)
