Brave Girl!

It was a big day at our house yesterday. Want to guess what happened? Yep, Mia got her ears pierced. She came home after school and running an errand with her daddy. She walked in the door and Steve said, "Mommy, Mia wants to get her ears pierced!" I was so surprised and looked at her and said, "REALLY?" We have been talking about ears being pierced for about a year at our house. Both girls have been extremely tempted by all the beautiful earrings they see, but completely terrified of the pain that they are sure accompanies this piercing. So when I heard my little 4 year old had decided that her desire was greater than her fear I was surprised. She assured me that she wanted earrings, but she wanted her big brother and sister to go with her to have it done. We agreed we would go after picking them up from school. On the way to school I asked why she had decided to get them pierced. She replied, "Because Kaleb begged me to get them." I marveled at the influence our older siblings can have on us! (I say "us" because my big sis can still sway my choices too!)

When I told Kaleb and Lucy that Mia wanted her ears pierced Lucy was quiet for a minute then she said, "I guess I do too. If my little 4 year old sister can do it, than I can too. But she has to go first!" I laughed and laughed about that! Well as you can guess the fear was still too great for Lucy even after watching Mia get hers done. By the way when the gun snapped that little golden heart through Mia's ear she very quietly and calmly said, "Ouch"! She is such a brave girl! I can't wait to see what God does with her life!
