IPAH – (Ee-puh) 1. A nonsense word used by Portuguese speaking people to proclaim exclamation, surprise, horror, disappointment, anger, frustration, joy.
Examples (all direct quotes):
Ipah it is so hot!
She broke the glass? Ipah!
Chocolate cake? Ipah! It’s my favorite.
Ipah! (said in a low, overwhelmed tone followed by silence and head shaking)
How much? Ipah that’s expensive!
Oh ipah, how do I conjugate that verb?
